Physical Adaptations Of The Giraffe

Hello People,
  •
  • The tongue of the giraffe is one of the physical adaptations because they use that to reach for the leaves on the trees or plants.

  •   Another adaptation is where the giraffe has tall legs so predators can't reach them.
  • The last one is that the giraffes have a long neck to reach high places.

Behavioral Adaptations of the Giraffe

Hello People,

The giraffes have several behavioral adaptations known as

  • The giraffes drink water in order to survive. This is very hard for a giraffe to drink water. Giraffes have long necks so that can't really see what is behind them. Animal predators can smash the giraffe's neck. Human poachers have a better target of the length. The giraffes gulp down the water. They can gulp the water down without choking. Giraffes can drink up to 10 gallons of water in a few minutes.
  • A giraffe's height and weight becomes large when it is time to go to sleep. Giraffes have adapted to sleep when standing up.
  • Giraffes can survive on the dew from the leaves that they drink.

  • They have adapted to where they can have a drink in a long while.
  • Giraffes can sleep 30 mins of their day, and they can still survive.
  • Giraffes usually sleep in 5 minute intervals, while another giraffe is put in place for lookout.

Ways The Giraffe Has Adapted to the Enviroment

Hello People,

Giraffes have adapted to their environment by

  1. They are able to consume 12 gallons of water at one time when drinking by a water hole. They also can absorb water from the dew of they leaves they eat, and are contained in their foods.
  2. They also have spots to camouflage between the trees. Here is a photo of a giraffe in action.
3. Giraffes have a special heart that pumps blood up their long necks to the brain. A giraffe's heart is 2-3 times stronger than a human's heart.

Giraffe's Habitat Info

Hello People,

Giraffe's habitat is

  • A field filled with tall grass.
  • A hot warm sun over the horizon
  • Lots of animals like lions stalking their prey.
  • Hot, dry grass to eat lying on the ground.

This has been description of the giraffe's natural which is in the African Savannas, Grasslands, and Open Woodlands.

Giraffe Facts

Hello People,

The giraffe's habitat is usually found in
  • African Savannas
  • Grasslands
  • Open Woodlands

The male giraffe can weigh as much as a big, large, pickup truck.
 (That is nearly 1400 kilograms!)

A giraffe's neck is 1.5-1.8 meters, and it contains the same number
of vertebrate as in a regular human being.

The fur that is built in giraffe's tails is about 10 times thicker than
the average thick strand of human hair.

Welcome!

Hello People,

This website is to present my science project with my friend, Parker Black. This is to give info about a specific info about a certain animal. You will soon see more posts.

Our animal is going to be giraffe.
